wired imagination.

i my three dimensional design class, our first assignment is to work with the concept of line. to do this, we are asked to create a "circus" of wire sculptures modeled after alexander calders calder's circus. the wire sculptures are supposed to be constructed using one continuous piece of wire. to practice working with wire, today we were instructed to create three different bicycles (or various other cycles...tricycle, unicycle, etc.) out of wire. i was disappointed that this was our practice assignment because i was considering the use of a bicycle or bicycle variant in my final project. either way, it was a fun assignment; had some problems...wire breaking, trouble standing, etc. in the end i was pretty satisfied with what i came up with minus the fact that my fingers still hurt and are slightly swollen and have blisters.
