Photography is truth. The cinema is truth twenty-four times per second

a friend of mine and i decided to get a group together and go to china town with a couple of people for a photo adventure. we got to talking and someone shared this quote, "Photography is truth. The cinema is truth twenty-four times per second." all doing work with photography and cinema agreed that this quote is the farthest from the truth. photography and cinema both are a manipulation of the truth, the artists (photographer, cinematographer, director) interpretation of reality. one reason i love photography, a photography looks at the world and as it is and can depict it in his/her own way dependent on his/her chosen depiction...photography highlights the beauty present in the world.
