everyone has heard a variation of the question "if you were able to have dinner with/interview anyone, dead or alive who would it be?" for the longest time, i did not have an answer to that question. i felt like something must be wrong that there was not a single person i could think of, i just did not really care. in the recent years, i finally have an answer. i would choose to go to coffee with stephen christian of anberlin. i do not want an interview or anything formal, but a causal conversation. i would pretty much do anything to be able to sit down and talk with him, i just think that he is a brilliant man and from what i get from his book and his blog i feel like i can compare in many ways.
about a week and a half ago i had the pleasure of meeting him, completely accidentally and i am so displeased with myself that i could not think of anything to say to him other than ask for his autograph and ask him how to get to the parking lot of the venue he was playing at. every time i go to a show i joke that that will be the time i meet him or that one day i will go to west hollywood and randomly run in to him. i imagine this magical moment of meeting. it was indeed magical for me, i had the smile to prove it for a good while after the meeting, but it was nothing special for him and i did not share with him how much of an impact he has made on my life. nonetheless, my life was made complete by having the opportunity to meet him, he really is a hero to me.
